Knowmad Institut (Knowmad Institut gemeinnützige UG, haftungsbeschränkt) is a European institute for multidisciplinary studies on human rights and sciences. The Brandenburg, Germany-based organization describes itself as an "independent think & do tank" and is publicized as a voice for human dignity in public and private policies. The institute is also recognized as a social interest company specializing in the promotion of science and research. Its vision is to contribute to the promotion and fulfillment of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The institute analyzes information in a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach for knowledge management facilitation, to disseminate proposals that promote solutions to global issues in civil society, academia, government, and the private sector. Its evidence base enables it to support decision-makers, opinion-leaders, and lobby/advocacy groups to explore initiatives based on human dignity, facts, and science.
The Knowmad Institut is an international non-governmental organization. It holds observer status at the World Intellectual Property Organization and is also a part of the UN Global Compact alliance, Deutsches Global Compact Netzwerk, and Rome Consensus 2.0 partnership. It is a member of the Vienna NGO Committee on Narcotic Drugs and the New York NGO Committee on Drugs.
Established in 2018 by Daniela Kreher and Martin Díaz, the Knowmad Institut works with an international team of twenty multidisciplinary experts, a specialized committee, and an ethics committee. The institute also has an active presence in Europe, America, Africa, and Asia.
The organization collaborates with OpenAIRE to provide research community services for a number of research projects in the areas of human rights, sustainable development, ethnobotany, new technologies, special populations, and drug policy.

The primary goal of this program is to share information via various channels, particularly with decision-makers, and present alternatives to issues concerning emerging technologies. The group works with specific populations, academics, public servants, and biopsychosocial agents and attends conferences, workshops, symposia, and forums at local, regional, and international levels.
The program promotes the use of blockchain technology via pragmatic proposals that are compatible with the fulfillment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030). It also promotes the increase of harm reduction and risk management methodologies in the face of issues with the advancement of artificial intelligence.
The aim of this program is to highlight alternatives to drug policies and help specific regions adapt them to their situation. The institute gathers analysis, surveys, and studies that portray widespread misinformation about drug policy, including misleading information from decision-makers. The group has experience in public and political advocacy.
This focus is to promote change in drug policy perspective so the international drug control model shifts from the criminal and punitive point of view to one acknowledging human rights. They also promote the strengthening of harm reduction and risk management strategies at an international level.
The Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies in Human Rights & Science (JMSHRS) was created to promote open science as a result of global challenges that interconnect science, technology, and society. The journal offers the research community publication and discovery services of specific open research products in the organization's areas of interest. The JMSHRS is an initiative of the Knowmad Institut.
The institute's goal is to offer advice with value and knowledge available in the domains of sustainable development, human rights, special populations, drug policies, ethnobotany, and upcoming technologies. It provides solutions to help organizations adapt to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Its evaluation and advisory practices encompass the experience and knowledge of specialists in Europe and the Americas, contributing to the development of organizations via diagnostics, recommendations, reporting, monitoring, and project implementation. This is combined with services in inclusion and public and political advocacy for related products and/or services. It also works to identify appropriate institutions, locally or globally, for strategic partnership suggestions. The Knowmad Speakers Network allows organizations to invite them for presentations, events, and conferences.
