KitKat

KitKat is the name of an edible treat made of chocolate and wafers. It was created by Rowntree's of York, United Kingdom, and is now produced globally by Nestlé (which acquired Rowntree's in 1988). However, in the United States, it is made by the Hershey Company.

KitKat bars are usually sold with four rectangular pieces that are connected as they were covered with an outer layer of chocolate. They are easily breakable, and the product's motto, "Have a break, have a KitKat," references the treat's breakability as a noun to suggest eating it during a short, relaxing time that breaks ideally are.

The original KitKat bar used milk chocolate and was first available in dark chocolate during World War II. Other flavors are available throughout the world, with more than 300 different flavors having been produced in Japan due to the candy bar's popularity there.
