Kingfisher offers a mobile experience solution called FLIP for carriers and consumers. FLIP enables subscribers to get a brand-new smart device. Kingfisher handles the back-end operations for carriers. With another solution called Kingfisher Nexus, the company takes returned and excess devices and repurposes them.
Kingfisher operates in Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific. The company white labels FLIP to their carrier partners to provide the program in their branding. A subscriber can FLIP their device for a new one when they hand in their device through existing carrier channels—online, in stores, in-home services—then pick out another brand-new device. The device could be the same model but a newer version, or a different brand.
The subscriber can choose their next device, and the remaining obligations on any existing contract end, while the subsequent device purchase contract begins. Returned devices are repurposed by Kingfisher Nexus. The devices from the FLIP program go through a data-wipe for the removal of sensitive information before being repurposed.
