Khronos Group

Khronos Group is an industry consortium that creates open APIs in the field of graphics and sound creation. The consortium includes more than 150 different companies.

On July 31, 2006, at SIGGRAPH, it was announced that control of the OpenGL specification would be transferred to the Khronos Group.

In August 2008, the Khronos Group published the OpenGL 3.0 specification.

• OpenGL - 3D graphics API.

• OpenGL ES is the portable version of the OpenGL specification.

• OpenVG - API for hardware acceleration of 2D graphics processing.

• WebGL is a standard based on OpenGL ES. It is used to develop 3D graphics on the Internet.
