Jiro Taniguchi

Jiro Taniguchi (born August 14, 1947, in Tottori, Tottori; died February 11, 2017, in Tokyo) was a Japanese mangaka known for his notable works, including "A Distant Neighborhood", and "Kodoku no Gourmet". He held Japanese nationality and became an author in Japan, gaining recognition for his contributions to the manga industry.

Taniguchi's alias in Japanese is たにぐち ジロー. In his career, he created many manga stories that resonated with readers from different backgrounds, cementing his legacy in the world of manga. As an accomplished author, Taniguchi also wrote "A Distant Neighborhood", which was among his most successful and acclaimed works.
