Jean Metzinger was a French artist and poet born on June 24, 1883, in Nantes. He held French citizenship and passed away on November 3, 1956, in Paris. Metzinger is known for his work in various genres, including Neo-impressionism, Divisionism, Fauvism, and Cubism. In addition to painting and drawing, Metzinger was also involved in writing and poetry.
Some of his notable works include "La Femme au Cheval", "Dancer in a Café", "Le goûter (Tea Time)", "L'Oiseau bleu (Metzinger)", "Two Nudes in an Exotic Landscape", "La danse, Bacchante", "En Canot", "Coucher de soleil no. 1", and "Nu à la cheminée".
Apart from painting, Metzinger worked as a poet, illustrator, and was educated at the École des Beaux-Arts in France. With a diverse range of artistic genres, Metzinger created works spanning portraits, still lifes, and figurative art.
