Janet Rowley (1925-2013) was a biologist and geneticist from the United States. She was born on April 5, 1925, in New York City and passed away on December 17, 2013, in Hyde Park, Chicago. Rowley was educated at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools and then went on to study at the Pritzker School of Medicine.
Throughout her career, Rowley made important contributions to the fields of biology and genetics. She had a son named David Rowley. In recognition of her achievements, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
