Ilya Ilf

Ilya Ilf (1897-1937) was a Russian writer, journalist, mechanic, screenwriter, contributing editor, photographer, and playwright, best known for his works in the genres of satire, prose, novella, feuilleton, and novel. Born in Odessa and a citizen of both the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union, he also worked as a humorist and wrote under various pseudonyms, including Илья Арнольдович Ильф, Виталий Пселдонимов, and Франц Бакен-Бардов. Ilf's literary career spanned the fields of literature, authorship, and writing.

Ilf was the author of several notable works, including The Twelve Chairs, The Little Golden Calf, and The Thirteen Chairs. He passed away in Moscow in 1937.
