Horace Walpole

Horace Walpole was a writer, novelist, and politician born on September 24, 1717, in London. He was a citizen of the Kingdom of Great Britain and passed away in London on March 2, 1797. Walpole is best known for his work in the genre of Gothic fiction, most notably The Castle of Otranto. He occasionally wrote under the pseudonym Onuphrio Muralto.

Walpole was educated at Eton College and later attended King's College, Cambridge. He was the son of Robert Walpole, a prominent British politician, and Catherine, Lady Walpole. Throughout his life, Horace Walpole pursued multiple occupations, including writer, novelist, and politician, leaving a lasting impact on the world of literature and politics.
