Guy Rose - an American artist, one of the largest representatives of California impressionism. Guy Rose was born into the family of California Senator Leonard John Rose and grew up on his father's ranch. In 1876, as a result of a hunting accident, he was shot in the face by his brother. During the long-term treatment, he began to paint with watercolor and oil. In 1884, Rose graduated from High School in Los Angeles and entered the California School of Design in San Francisco. Since September 1888, he has been studying at the Julian Academy in Paris, together with J.-J. Lefebvre and J.-P. Laurent. In 1888-1889 he received a scholarship from the Delacluse Academy. In 1890, the artist exhibited his works for the first time at the Paris Salon; this exhibition was followed by others in 1891 and in 1894.
