Guo Ping

Guo Ping (Chinese: 郭平) is a Huawei executive holding the positions of rotating chairman and deputy chairman. He holds the same position with two others; Xu Zhijun (Eric Xu, Chinese: 徐直军) and Hu Houkun (Ken Hu, Chinese: 胡厚崑). He previously held the position of rotating CEO before the position was changed into rotating chairman, with Ren Zhengfei, the founder of Huawei, continuing to occupy the CEO position. The position is rotated every six months. Guo is serving as the current rotating chairman of Huawei since April 2020 and will be holding the position until September 2020. Guo has been a member of the executive management team since 2004 and has worked in Huawei since 1988.

He was from the Jianxi province. His father worked in a bank and his mother was a teacher. He has a bachelor's and master's degree in computer science from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He moved to Shenzhen from Wuhan after graduating, and had intentions to work at Shenzhen University. He instead became one of Huawei's first employees.
