Early career

Lettieri started his career at Sprint Nextel, where he worked in mobile and telecom business development from June 2004 to June 2008. He went on to hold leadership positions at Pacnet from June 2008 to March 2013 and Bank of America, where he was senior vice president of network and security services product delivery and management strategy from March 2013 to August 2015. During his time at Bank of America, he built technology portals for traders.

Recycle Track Systems

In 2014, neighbor and friend Adam Pasquale presented Lettieri with an idea to develop a cloud-based waste and recycling management technology company with a heavy emphasis on sustainability and within 30 days had filed paperwork to start Recycle Track Systems (RTS). The company uses data analytics and a proprietary tracking system for trash collection, recycling and waste hauling.

Lettieri and Pasquale designed RTS to provide environmentally responsible services to create more visibility into a company’s impact on the climate. RTS provides real-time reporting of waste, recycling and donation drop-offs, and provides detailed waste diversion metrics that help companies assess and advance their sustainability goals.

Since launching Recycle Track Systems in 2015, Lettieri has helped develop four technologies for the company, including a customer-facing application for smartphones, a tablet equipped with GPS truck routing and a digital routing sheet, a desktop CRM tool for haulers and customers and an internal application that remotely tracks trucks and service orders.

RTS currently works with Citi Field to keep organic waste free of plastic cups and straws so composting farms will accept it. The company is also monitoring how much food waste is diverted from landfills and provides documentation the New York Mets can use in promoting their eco-friendliness. In 2017, RTS became a certified B Corporation.
