Glenn Curtiss, born Glenn Hammond Curtiss on May 21, 1878, in Hammondsport, New York, was an engineer, aircraft pilot, and businessperson from the United States. He was the founder of the Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Company. Curtiss passed away on July 23, 1930, in Buffalo, New York. In 2003, he was posthumously inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
