Giorgio de Chirico

Giorgio de Chirico was born on July 10, 1888 in Volos. He held Italian citizenship and was educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. De Chirico was a versatile artist, with occupations that included artist, writer, scenographer, and illustrator. He was the founder of Metaphysical art and his body of work spanned a variety of genres such as abstract art, portrait, still life, cityscape, landscape painting, metaphysical art, and nude art. One of De Chirico's most notable works is The Song of Love. He passed away on November 20, 1978 in Rome.
