Georges Claude was a French chemist, physicist, engineer, and businessperson born on September 24, 1870, in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. He was educated at ESPCI ParisTech and went on to become the founder of Air Liquide, a major industrial gas company. Claude received recognition for his work and was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2007. He passed away on May 23, 1960, in Saint-Cloud, France and held French citizenship throughout his life.
