Gene Roddenberry, also known as Eugene Wesley Roddenberry, was born on August 19, 1921, in El Paso, Texas. He held various occupations throughout his life, including screenwriter, television producer, film producer, aircraft pilot, writer, novelist, and executive producer.
Roddenberry was educated at institutions such as Los Angeles City College, Columbia University, University of Southern California, and University of Miami. He is best known for his work in the Star Trek franchise, including the original Star Trek series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and various Star Trek films and video games.
Some of Roddenberry's other notable works include the characters Dylan Hunt, Jean-Luc Picard, and Uhura, as well as the starship USS Enterprise (NCC-1701). He was a citizen of the United States and had one child, Rod Roddenberry.
Gene Roddenberry passed away on October 24, 1991, in Santa Monica, California.
