Gary David Goldberg (born June 25, 1944, and died June 22, 2013) was an American writer, television producer, film director, screenwriter, and film producer. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, and held United States citizenship. Goldberg passed away in Montecito, California.
Goldberg was educated at a variety of institutions, including Brandeis University, San Diego State University, and Lafayette High School in New York City. He was the founder of Ubu Productions, a company responsible for producing various television shows. In addition, he was a member of the board of directors of "Must Love Dogs," a movie he also created. His daughter, Shana Goldberg-Meehan, has also pursued a career in the television industry.
