Frederick Jackson Turner (1861-1932) was an American historian and writer from the United States. He was born in Portage, Wisconsin on November 14, 1861, and passed away in San Marino, California on March 14, 1932.
Turner received his education at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and became a prominent historian, as well as a writer. Throughout his career, Turner had an influence on the field of history and mentored doctoral students, such as Balthasar H. Meyer.
