Frederic Leighton

Frederic Leighton (born December 3, 1830) was a British artist, politician, and citizen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Born in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, Leighton pursued education at the Academy of Arts in Berlin.

Throughout his lifespan, Leighton became known for his occupation as a politician. Sadly, his life came to an end in London on January 25, 1896. Frederic Leighton is remembered as a person and a museum owner, lending his name to the Leighton House Museum.
