Francis Perrin (1901-1992) was a French physicist and chemist. He was born in the 5th arrondissement of Paris and held French citizenship. Perrin was educated at the Lycée Henri-IV and had the renowned scientist Marie Curie as his doctoral advisor.
During his career, Francis Perrin was a mentor to physicist Pierre-Gilles de Gennes. He was also the son of Jean Baptiste Perrin, a Nobel laureate and fellow physicist. Francis Perrin played a crucial role in founding the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) in France.
Perrin's life came to an end in the 14th arrondissement of Paris on July 4, 1992.
