Eric Roberts is an American actor and film producer. He was born on April 18, 1956, in Biloxi, Mississippi. He is a citizen of the United States and currently resides in Los Angeles.
Roberts attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and Henry W. Grady High School. He is the father of Keaton Simons and Emma Roberts, who are also actors. Throughout his career, Eric has worked in numerous film genres, including drama, romantic comedy, crime-comedy, thriller, martial arts, and action thriller.
One of his first Golden Globe Award nominations came from his leading role in "King of the Gypsies" (1978). Some other notable works in his career include "Raggedy Man", "The Pope of Greenwich Village", "Runaway Train", and "The Dark Knight" (film). He also appeared in television series such as "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit", "Burn Notice", "Glee", and "Grey's Anatomy".
Eric Roberts' family includes mother Betty Lou Bredemus, children Emma Roberts and Keaton Simons, and relatives Lila Garrett, Julie Roberts, and David Rayfiel. He was in a partnership with Sandy Dennis.
