Edward Nelson

Edward Nelson (1932-2014) was a mathematician, physicist, and philosopher from the United States. Born in Decatur, Georgia, he completed his education at the University of Chicago. Throughout his career, Nelson contributed to various sectors, including mathematics and physics.

Nelson has been a doctoral advisor to several students, including Richard M. Dudley, Greg Lawler, and Eric Anders Carlen. His own doctoral advisor was Irving Segal. Nelson passed away in Princeton, New Jersey.
