Dieric Bouts

Dieric Bouts (1415-1475) was a painter and artist from the Kingdom of the Netherlands. He was born in Haarlem and later died in Leuven. Bouts was primarily known for his portrait and religious paintings. Two of his most notable works include The Entombment and Altarpiece of the Holy Sacrament.

Dieric Bouts was the father of two sons, Dieric Bouts the Younger and Aelbrecht Bouts, both of whom also became painters. Bouts held the nationality of the Netherlands.
