Some historians claim that Davidov was founded in the XII century by Prince David Igorevich and inhabited by Polovtsian prisoners.

In the second half of the XIII century David was destroyed by the Tatar troops of Burundi. The village was revived only in the 14th century after the Poles conquered Lviv.

The first written mention of the Davids that has come down to us dates back to March 20, 1355: it is an act of granting the village by Polish King Casimir III to the nobleman Hryhoriy Timszyc from Silesia His descendants, who began to sign "from Davidov" and then - Davidovsky - inherited the haunt. It is also mentioned that the village stood on the ancient road from Halych to Lviv.
