David Barnard

David joined Chelsea in July 2002. He has overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations and administration of the Football Department, including transfer agreements and player contracts, ensuring compliance with the relevant football authorities.

In addition, he is also the main club contact for the relevant football authorities including FIFA, UEFA, the FA, the Premier League and the EFL He is responsible for ensuring all regulatory arrangements and administrative requirements for all the men’s first team fixtures, including our pre- and post-season tours are met.

A member of the Football Club Board, which oversees football policy for the club, David has completed well over 45 seasons in professional football.

He also represented the Premier League on the FA Council between 2007 and 2018, and is an ambassador for the England national teams.
