Darren Aronofsky (born February 12, 1969) is an American film producer, director, screenwriter, and writer. He was born in Brooklyn and holds citizenship in the United States.

Aronofsky received his education from Edward R. Murrow High School, Harvard University, and the AFI Conservatory. He is the founder of the film production company Protozoa Pictures. Some of his notable works include directing the films "Pi" (1998), "Requiem for a Dream" (2000), "Black Swan" (2010), "Noah" (2014), and "Mother!" (2017).

Over the years, Aronofsky has been honored with numerous awards from various organizations such as the American Film Institute, Venice Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, Chicago International Film Festival, and the Film Independent Spirit Awards.
