Daniel Heinsius (9 June 1580 – 25 February 1655) was a Dutch writer, poet, and librarian who also held Swedish citizenship. He was born in Ghent and educated at Leiden University. Heinsius served as a librarian and wrote various literary works throughout his life.

Heinsius died in The Hague on 25 February 1655.
