Cornwall RLFC is a professional rugby league club and a Rugby Football League member club that competes in Betfred League 1 and the Betfred Challenge Cup. The team was established in 2021 and is the first professional Rugby League team to represent Cornwall in the 126 years since the sport was established.
The team plays at the oldest rugby facility in Cornwall, The Memorial Ground in Penryn. Penryn, also known as "The Borough," was founded in 1216 and is home to one of the earliest colleges in the country, established in the thirteenth century. The Memorial Ground has played host to some of the world's most famous rugby players, like Barry John, JPR Williams, and Derek Quinnell. The grounds are adjacent to the academy school on Kernick Road, just west of the city center.
Their motto is "Cornwall First," meaning they will field as many Cornish players as possible. It also means they intend on putting their community and its members first. The team is coached by Neil Kelly, former professional player and English rugby league coach, and was sponsored by Sedulo for the 2021 season.
