Contender Capital

Contender Capital is a venture capital and private equity firm acting as a micro-venture capital firm that is headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina and was founded in 1990 by Joe Velk. Before founding Contender Capital, Joe Velk, served as an investing partner for The North Carolina Enterprise Fund (NCEF) and a $20 million evergreen venture capital fund based in North Carolina's Research Triangle Park area.

As of December 2019, Contender Capital has made 3 investments in Nitronex, a series A investment on November 13, 2000, a series B investment in Jul 13, 2001, and a venture round investment on June 19, 2006.
