Checkout Charlie is a European consumer and discount portal website that focuses on focuses on performance marketing, content marketing, and an advice portal, created to assist users with their daily shopping by providing deals and where to find them. Checkout Charlie is based in Berlin and was founded in 2008.
Until 2020, the company was known as Sparwelt and was a bargain-shopping blog. The blog transformed into a portal with content like discounts, subscriptions, and more. In 2013, Sparwelt began collaborations with large German media companies, and the following year, they join the Media Group RTL Germany. In 2020, the company was renamed to Checkout Charlie GmbH and launched portals in Spain and Italy.
The company is led by CEO Martin Riess and CTO Johannes Lauter.
