Burt Bacharach, born Burt Freeman Bacharach on May 12, 1928 , was an American pianist, composer, songwriter, and record producer. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri and held United States citizenship.
Bacharach was educated at several institutions, including Mannes School of Music, Forest Hills High School (New York), McGill University, and Music Academy of the West. His musical genres included pop music, vocal music, easy listening, lounge music, and orchestral pop.
Throughout his career, Bacharach received a variety of awards, such as the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media, Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and Grammy Trustees Award. Burt Bacharach passed away on February 8, 2023, in Los Angeles.
