Boozoo Chavis

Boozoo Chavis, born Wilson Anthony Chavis on October 23, 1930, was a musician from the United States. He was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana and later died in Austin, Texas, on May 5, 2001. Boozoo Chavis was a key figure in the zydeco genre, a unique form of music originating from Louisiana with Creole roots.

Throughout his career, Chavis held several occupations within the music industry. He was an accomplished accordion player, as well as a singer, songwriter, and musician. By being proficient in multiple aspects of the music business, he played a crucial role in the development and progression of zydeco music.
