Bio was a biotech company founded by Deborah Zanforlin and Laura Barbosa. The company was working on a MetaChip consisting of various biosensors capable of detecting genetic markers associated with the presence of eighteen kinds of cancer.

The markers detected by the MetaChip are referred to as microRNAs. MetaChip's idea was supposed to offer a way to monitor the onset of cancer. It was a portable diagnosis, which did not require trained personnel, and could have been used for routine assessment in the prevention and diagnosis of cancers worldwide.
