Beirut Arab University (BAU) is a private educational institution founded on December 26, 1961, in Lebanon, specifically located in Beirut. The university operates within the education, higher education, and university industries. Also known as جامعة بيروت العربية , BAU is highly affiliated with various organizations, including the United Nations Global Compact, the International Association of Universities, and the European Foundation for Management Development.
Moreover, BAU is a member of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, Mediterranean University, International Council for Open and Distance Education, and the Association of Arab Universities, among others. The institution is accredited by a number of bodies, such as the Royal Institute of British Architects, the World Confederation for Physical Therapy, and the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation. Furthermore, its programs have received accreditation from the American Dental Association, the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, and the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs, among others.
Additionally, Beirut Arab University is connected to the Association of Universities of the Francophonie, the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World, and the Arab Forum for Environment and Development. The institution also partners with the Lebanese Academic Library Consortium and various other organizations related to different fields of study.
