Base Food

Tokyo-based Base Food develops food products that they claim are nutritionally complete. In late October 2017, Base Food announced it had raised 100 million yen (approx $880,000) from Japanese VC firm Global Brain in its seed round. With this money, Base Food is going to prepare overseas expansion mainly targeting the U.S.

BASE FOOD was founded in April 2016 under their mission of "Make people's life healthier by innovating staple foods" and in February 2017, BASE FOOD started selling BASE PASTA. Ingredients for BASE PASTA include whole wheat flour, chia seeds, and seaweed.
