AVIS Rent A Car System is an international company providing car rental services. Presented more than 5,750 rental points in 165 countries of the world serving more than 10 million customers annually. Headquarters is located in Parsippanne, New Jersey, USA. Together with companies Budget Rent A Car, Budget Truck Rental, Payless, Apex Car Rentals, Maggiore, Zipcar is part of the Avis Budget Group.

From the late 1970s, Avis has been mainly produced by General Motors (GM), such as Chevrolet and Cadillac, but today also rents popular brands that are not related to GM, including Ford and Toyota.

Currently, AVIS has a wide range of services related to vehicles:
