Arachno

Arachno provides a Microsoft SharePoint replacement software solution that runs on Google Apps for Business and integrates with Microsoft Office products. Businesses can use Arachno products to take advantage of the cost savings potential of Google Apps for Business, yet retain SharePoint's functionality. Arachno's cloud-based database product uses Google’s App Engine Data Storage Platform to deliver business intelligence through global social media integration. It also provides the ability to drive business intelligence through the integration of global social media content and legacy data.

Arachno offers two products—Arachno Orbit and Arachno Insight. Arachno Orbit adds structure and organization to Google Drive™, manages Word®, Excel®, and other Microsoft Office™ files, and optimizes business processes by connecting documents, data, and contacts. Arachno Insight makes it easy to aggregate, interpret, visualize and utilize data that helps bring life-changing resources and services.

Customers include the City of Champaign, Illinois, The New York City Department of Homeless Services, Gibson and the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Arachno has partnered with the following companies: Suitebriar, DLT Solutions, Appirio, Expertizen, SADA Systems, and ValleyApps. Arachno's partnership with Expertizen, based in Argentina, has allowed the company to expand into South America.

Arachno was founded in 2009 by Loren Ball and is located in New York City. Robert Lancer was an executive officer and director of the company. Loren Ball sold the company in 2012 or 2013.
