Angelina Romanovna Melnikova was born on July 18, 2000 in Voronezh, Cancer according to the zodiac sign. The athlete's mother Marina Anatolyevna is a lawyer by education, but she has never worked in her specialty. Roman's father works on a farm, his brother is engaged in Greco-Roman wrestling.
From an early age, Angelina was very active, and her parents decided to enroll the girl in a circle. At the age of 6, her grandmother brought her to the Y. E. Shtukman Olympic Reserve Gymnastics School, where Melnikova studied under the guidance of coach Natalia Ishkova. At the age of 11, she wanted to quit sports because of a sore ear, but in the final competitions she took 5 first places and stayed.

Angelina spent little time at school, but every year she was happy with new notebooks and pens, tried to write beautifully. In 2018, she joined the Smolensk State Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism as a coach.
Gymnast Angelina Melnikova won three medals at the 2020 Olympics: bronze for floor exercises and in the individual all—around and gold in the team all-around. It was at these competitions that for the first time the girl was in the rank of team captain. But this Olympiad was Angelina's second in a row. For the first time she participated in the Olympic Games in 2016, where at the age of 16 she became a silver medalist in the team championship in Rio de Janeiro.
This 2016 Olympics was a real victory for Melnikova. She was the youngest athlete in the team and managed to win a medal with an injured leg. Angelina received the highest score on the uneven bars, performed well with a support jump and free exercises.
