Andrew Marvell

Andrew Marvell (1621-1678) was a poet, politician, and writer from the Kingdom of England. He was born on March 31, 1621, in Winestead and educated at Hull Grammar School and Trinity College, Cambridge. Marvell held British citizenship in his time and earned the nickname "British Aristides".

Andrew Marvell primarily gained recognition as a poet, with notable works such as "To His Coy Mistress" and "The Garden" (poem). In addition to his poetry, Marvell was also a politician.

He was the son of Andrew Marvell and furthered the family name when he became the father of another Andrew Marvell. Andrew Marvell passed away on August 16, 1678, in London.
