Andrei Platonov

Andrei Platonov (born August 16, 1899 in Voronezh, and died January 5, 1951 in Moscow) was a Soviet and Russian writer, playwright, poet, screenwriter, journalist, and war correspondent. During his career, he used various pseudonyms such as А. Вагулов, А. Фирсов, Ф. Человеков, and Платонов.

He is known for working across a range of genres including prose, opinion journalism, novels, poems and ballads, novellas, short stories, plays, and journalism. His most notable work is The Foundation Pit.

Andrei Platonov was a citizen of both the Soviet Union and the Russian Empire. He founded his career in 1919 and it lasted until his death in 1951. His work contributed to the literature, authorship, and writing industries in Russia.
