Amaterasu

Amaterasu, officially known as Amaterasu , Amaterasu-o-mikami , 天照大御神 , and Amaterasu ōmikami , is a deity in Japanese mythology. The goddess is also referred to as "the great sacred goddess shining in the sky" and "the goddess-sun" . Amaterasu was born in Japan and holds citizenship in the country .

As a child of Izanagi , Amaterasu is one of the many offspring of the deities Izanagi and Izanami . Her siblings include Tsukiyomi , Hiruko , Susanoo-no-Mikoto , and Kagutsuchi .

Amaterasu is known to have several children, including Amenooshihomimi no Mikoto , Amenohohi , Amatsuhikone , Ikutsuhikone , Kumanokusubi , Takiribime , Tagitsuhime , and Ichikishimahime .
