Alfred Deakin

Alfred Deakin (born August 3, 1856, in Melbourne and died October 7, 1919, in Melbourne) was an Australian journalist, poet, diplomat, and politician. He held Australian citizenship and was the son of William Deakin.

Deakin was educated at Melbourne Law School. Throughout his career, he worked in various occupations, including journalism, poetry, diplomacy, and politics. As a prominent figure in early Australian political history, Alfred Deakin played a vital role in shaping the nation's development as a federated state.
