Akiko Yano

Akiko Yano is a Japanese singer-songwriter, musician, composer, and pianist born on February 13, 1955. She was born in Aomori, Aomori and holds Japanese citizenship. Akiko Yano is also known by the alias やの あきこ.

Throughout her career, Yano has explored a wide range of musical genres which include disco, electronic music, jazz, new wave music, pop music, soul music, synth-pop, J-pop, and pop rock. In addition to her musical pursuits, Akiko Yano is also a radio personality.

Akiko Yano is the mother of Miu Sakamoto, a Japanese singer and songwriter who followed in her mother's footsteps in the music industry.
