Adam Yauch was an American rapper, bass player, filmmaker, and a founding member of the hip hop group Beastie Boys. Born on August 5, 1964, in New York City, Yauch held United States citizenship and was also known by his pseudonyms MCA, Nathanial Hörnblowér, and several others.
Throughout his career, Yauch explored various musical styles, such as rock music, hip hop music, rock opera, rap rock, alternative hip hop, and hardcore punk. He was not only a record producer but also a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and film director.
Yauch received education at Brooklyn Friends School, Edward R. Murrow High School, and eventually attended Bard College. Among the awards he received was the MTV Video Music Awards.
Adam Yauch was the founder of Oscilloscope, a company involved in film production and distribution. He passed away on May 4, 2012, in New York City.
