Yves Chauvin

Yves Chauvin (1930-2015) was a French chemist , born in Menen, Belgium , who was known for deciphering the process of olefin metathesis . He held French citizenship and was educated at CPE Lyon . Chauvin's work led to the creation of the process of olefin metathesis .

Throughout his career, he received numerous accolades, most notably the 2005 Nobel Prize in Chemistry . Yves Chauvin passed away in Tours, France, on January 28, 2015 .
