Father - Joseph Ivanovich Vizbor, a Lithuanian, was born in Libava, secondary education, a sailor, during the Civil War on the Southern Front — a commander of the Red Army, in the mid-1930s - in a managerial job in the police of Tajikistan. In 1934, he was wounded in the back. Then he was an operative of the Department for Combating Theft of Socialist Property in Moscow. On January 14, 1938, he was arrested, on March 23, 1938, the commission of the NKVD and the Prosecutor's Office of the USSR sentenced him to be shot on charges of belonging to a counterrevolutionary Latvian nationalist organization, and on April 5, 1938, the sentence was carried out at the Butovo NKVD training ground.
