Yao Ming

Yao Ming is a person from China, born on December 9, 1980, in Shanghai. He is an entrepreneur and the owner of the Shanghai Sharks. Yao Ming studied at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and holds Chinese nationality. He is married to Ye Li and is the child of Yao Qinlei.

Yao Ming is known for being a Chinese basketball executive and former professional player. His occupations include athlete, basketball player, philanthropy, and politics. Yao holds the alias of President of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Throughout his career, Yao Ming has received numerous awards. These include being inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame: Class of 2016, an 8-time NBA All-Star, and appearing on the All-NBA Team 5 times. Additional accolades include being named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2003, participating in the NBA Rookie All-Star Game in 2004, and winning gold medals with Team China at the 2001, 2003, and 2005 FIBA Asia Cups. He was also the Chinese Basketball Association Champion in the 2001-2002 season. Yao Ming is noted for his MVP performance in the 2001, 2003, and 2005 FIBA Asia Cups, as well as being the FIBA Diamond Ball Top Scorer in 2004 and making the All-Tournament Team during the 2002 FIBA World Cup.
