XAYA is an open-source blockchain development platform developed and maintained by Autonomous Worlds. XAYA was developed through a series of projects starting in 2013 undertaken by Autonomous Worlds that would eventually become the blockchain platform. The platform offers real asset ownership, new game genres, SDK and API, documentation, and asset management services for in-platform assets.
The platform is developed for users to develop blockchain-based games on top of them, allowing players to compete and cooperate in decentralized virtual realities that run serverless in a provably fair environment built to not permit cheating. The platform is also developed to be highly scalable, to allow players to truly own their in-game assets. And, because it is built to be a provably fair environment, it can be used to develop fraud-proof trading systems.
XAYA is a custom blockchain code forked from Bitcoin and Namecoin that uses the blockchain as a base data store, which is what allows it to ensure cryptographic security for games and decentralized applications (dApps) built on it. The platform's Game Channel technology enables numerous computationally highly complex and real-time massively multiplayer online (MMO) games and dApps.
