Voltaire

Voltaire, born François-Marie Arouet on November 21, 1694, was a French philosopher, poet, historian, playwright, essayist, and writer. He was also known as an Encyclopédistes and used pseudonyms such as Bénédictin and his famous moniker, Voltaire.

He was educated at the Lycée Louis-le-Grand in Paris, the city where he was born and would later die on May 30, 1778. Voltaire held French citizenship and was known for his correspondence and authorship in various genres, including novels.

Throughout his career, Voltaire produced numerous notable works such as Candide, Zaire, Mahomet, Dictionnaire philosophique, Letters on the English, Zadig, and L'Ingénu.
