Theodore Clement Steele - American impressionist painter. He devoted a lot of time to public activities, gave public lectures, was on the jury of art exhibitions, in particular the World's Fair in Paris (1900) and the World's Fair in St. Louis (1904), took part in various art associations - the Hoosier Group and the Society of Western Artists. Theodore Steele was awarded honorary titles by Wabash College (1900) and Indiana University (1916), he was an associate member of the New York National Academy of Design since 1913.
